Natural tree cavities are increasingly rare in nature because trees are often cut down before they reach the age at which they develop hollows. Birdhouses are a good substitute for natural tree cavities—an imitation that cavity-nesting birds readily accept. By making and installing birdhouses, we can greatly help cavity-nesting birds, while also having a lot of fun in the process.

A big THANK YOU to the nursery Panić Nursery and its owner Marko Panić for the donation we received in the form of three curly willow saplings! 🌿 Together with our international volunteers, we planted the willows around Gnezdo, hoping that they will take root and remain a lasting reminder of the wonderful time and togetherness we shared over the past two weeks.
