In order to share and use the space together, we need to respect the house rules!
HOUSE RULES
Clean up after yourself!
AKC Gnezdo does not have paid staff responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order, and the space is used by various organizations, informal groups, and individuals. That is why it is very important that after your program or stay in the space, you return things to their place, wash the utensils you used, sweep if necessary, and throw waste in the trash.
Do not handle equipment you do not know how to use!
If you are not sure how to properly turn on or off the heater, sound system, projector, or any other technical equipment, it is best not to do anything until you speak with Gnezdo’s technical coordinator. Improper handling can cause damage that may prevent the realization of other programs depending on that equipment, and it will certainly reduce the budget as well!
Respect other people’s scheduled time!
When using Gnezdo, let the space coordinator know how long you will be using the space and pay attention to the time slots before and after yours. For this, ask for access to Gnezdo’s calendar! It may not seem important for your program, but there are activities where squeaking doors, loud noises, drum playing, washing dishes, and conversations can be highly disruptive.
Return tools to their place!
If you use tools from Gnezdo’s equipment fund, make sure to return them to their proper place! In the speed and excitement of work, pliers, screws, brushes, and similar items can easily be left somewhere they do not belong. This will drive all of us crazy the next time we need that tool or material, lead to duplicate purchases and unnecessary costs, mutual blame, and waste valuable time!
Report damage/problems/shortages!
You make yourself a coffee and notice there is no more coffee left. The toilet flush is not working? A light bulb burned out? Let the coordinator and other Gnezdo users know, if you cannot, do not know how, or do not have time to solve the problem yourself. Do not wait for others to discover it the hard way!
Be a good host!
While you are in the space, it may happen that the audience of another program stops by, or someone from the neighborhood wants to take a look inside Gnezdo. Keep in mind that it is important for us to build healthy relationships within the local community, and that visitors may not necessarily be familiar with Gnezdo’s programs, model, and goals. Introduce them!
