Over the past few years, ŽEN have performed at numerous major European festivals, including Europavox, Colours of Ostrava, Tallinn Music Week, Eurosonic, INmusic, and Welcome to the Village, as well as in clubs across Europe — from the Balkans to the Baltics, from the Atlantic to the Vistula. In early 2017, they joined forces with Moonlee Records, resulting in their third album, “Sunčani ljudi.”

ŽEN’s album “Sunčani ljudi” captures, as if bottled, the essence of everything they had released up to that point. It sounds like a manifesto of love for the intricate interweaving of different genres — hypnotic post-rock repetition, atmospheric shoegaze guitar textures, the expressive vocal delivery of 1990s alternative rock, and warm-hearted experimentation in the spirit of krautrock.

Their musical expression remains psychedelic and dreamlike, reminiscent of bands such as Warpaint, The War on Drugs, Lush, and Pinkshinyultrablast. With rich guitar arrangements and three-part vocal harmonies, their sound evokes the golden age of guitar music, particularly landmark releases such as “Loveless” by My Bloody Valentine and “Souvlaki” by Slowdive.
