“Zavrni Rukave” is a national clean-up campaign in Serbia that takes place several times a year. Its goal is to bring together as many organizations, citizen groups, and individuals as possible to clean multiple locations across the country simultaneously, all in a single day. At our location, the action is organized by AKC Gnezdo, in partnership with Eko Straža, the initiator of the campaign.
“Zavrni Rukave” does not aim to clean all of Serbia of waste, as that is not possible. Instead, it seeks to raise awareness about the serious issue of unsanitary municipal landfills, the problem of littering in nature, and to mobilize citizens to create a critical mass that will push for institutional changes.
Our location is the Rasina River in Bivolje.
Gathering is at Gnezdo at 9:45 AM. The clean-up will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We will split into two groups, moving along both riverbanks upstream from Gnezdo and below the Saradis sign, cleaning as much as we can.
If you have your own gloves, please bring them.
We will provide trash bags and a limited number of gloves.
