Most board games originate from Asia and were initially created as tools for learning and developing military strategy. Some were designed to promote religion, make mathematics and astronomy more accessible, help distinguish between good and evil, or even support social and political protest.
Playing board games is not only fun—it’s also a great source of laughter, which increases endorphin levels (the “happiness hormone”), helping to relax muscles, improve blood circulation, reduce stress, and strengthen the immune system.
Laughter and shared play can also boost empathy and strengthen connections with others. In addition, board games improve memory in older age and may help reduce the risk of conditions such as Dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
So, find some free time, bring your favorite game or try a new one!
Everyone is welcome, regardless of age.
More information about the available games will be announced soon.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome—they help sustain the space!
