Every day we use our bodies as tools—but do we realize they can also be musical instruments?
Body percussion is the art of using the body as a percussion instrument: learning different types of clapping, finger snapping, tapping on various parts of the body, stomping, and many other unusual sounds we can create with our hands, mouth, and fingers. When we add voice to these sounds, we get body music—a performance technique that allows us to make music anytime, anywhere.
Getting to know this technique opens up new possibilities, turning the ordinary into something magical. Movement, song, laughter, and group work make personal development enjoyable. Through these workshops, we rediscover our bodies and return to that feeling where the one who commands and the one who performs are one joyful being, present in the moment.
Alongside musical games and simple songs—no singing experience or musical ear required—we explore fun exercises and activities that combine learning and play.
The workshops are led by Marko Dinjaški and Ana Vrbaški from Otvoreni krug Novi Sad, known as the musical and theatre group Alice in WonderBand. They have led workshops in Germany, Hungary, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia.
Participation is free.
