WARRIORS OF FLAME

In cooperation with the 15th Museum Night, Alternative Cultural Centre “The Nest” presents to You an exhibition of armours authored by Stevan Stevanović titled “THE WARRIORS OF THE FLAME!”

It is a presentation of artefacts - armours and weapons along with appropriate elements of costume design and scenogaphy that is based on Knights of the Flame- a group of male and female warriors within the context of epic fantasy about the middleages.

The design of the armours represents the genesis of historical and epochal characteristics related to the territory of Serbia, in all of their phases of development, combined and stylized by the author to form a compete piece. Those characteristics originate from as far back as the antique Hyperborea, sequenced by Corinthian elements, the elements from the early Christian period fused with romanic and gothic elements, and finaled by the innovative constructional ideas of Italian and German renaissance up to mid XV century such as the articulated plated armour. The recombination of the elements takes a rather dark and magical twist that interpolates history with the elements of artistic and traditional oral literature.
