From the Body, for the Body

“From the Body, for the Body” is an original project by Isidora Poledica and Aleksander Zain. Through conversations with fellow artists working in different dance styles, the project focuses on topics such as injuries, nutrition, training, and the various challenges dancers face throughout their professional careers.

The project grew out of an installation of the same name presented at last year’s Kondenz Contemporary Dance Festival, organised by Station – Service for Contemporary Dance. As part of Gnezdo’s gallery programme, the authors will present selected materials created through the installation and podcast.

The aim is to give visitors an opportunity to explore, alongside the material already available on platforms such as YouTube, Mixcloud and SoundCloud, the ideas and experiences of an even broader range of dance practices and artists working within different dance contexts.

The exhibition also aims to encourage the local community to explore dance and, more broadly, our relationship with different bodily and physical practices. For this purpose, the authors will prepare a short accompanying workshop programme, including a dance workshop and a Q&A/round-table discussion.

The exhibition will remain open until 17 December.
