Alternativni centar za devojke and the Femix Network of Women’s Creativity invite you to free workshops for girls and young women, taking place from Friday 11.10. to Sunday 13.10. in Kruševac, on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child.
The drum workshops are intended for 15 girls aged 13 to 18 who would like to learn the basics of playing this instrument, while the electric guitar workshops are intended for 5 participants of the same age group. The workshops will be led by mentors from the Girls Rock Camp and activists Selena Simić and Tijana Milivojević, who will use this opportunity to bring the Girls Rock Camp closer to the Kruševac audience. Alongside them, peer educators—participants of the first Girls Rock Camp—will assist in the workshops.
After two days of workshops, the girls will have the opportunity to present what they have learned to their parents and friends at a final presentation and concert, which will take place at AKC Gnezdo on October 13th at 2 PM.

The Femix Network of Women’s Creativity was founded in 2010 and has since been actively promoting and supporting women in culture and the arts. Their most visible project is Girls Rock Camp, held for the third time this year, bringing together 33 girls from 16 different places across Serbia. They also support women through the Femixeta compilation, which gathers singer-songwriters, musicians, and composers from Serbia, as well as through research on gender relations in the alternative music scene and many other projects aimed at empowering women in art and culture.
International Day of the Girl Child is marked by Alternativni centar za devojke as part of the project Joint Initiative for Empowering Young Women in Serbia, in cooperation with the Center for Counseling and Education Catalyst, supported by the Swedish foundation Kvinna till Kvinna.
