We invite representatives of social and cultural centers from Serbia to apply for participation in the Knowledge Exchange Program, aimed at strengthening competencies and supporting further professional development.
WE ARE OPENING A CALL FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN INDEPENDENT SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CENTERS
Application deadline: December 1
We invite representatives of social and cultural centers from Serbia to apply for participation in the Knowledge Exchange Program, aimed at strengthening competencies and supporting further professional development.
This call includes three seven-day residencies* in partner social and cultural centers across the country, intended for employees and volunteers of existing centers, as well as for initiatives working toward establishing such spaces, who wish to develop their knowledge, skills, and practices.
The program offers opportunities to:
– learn from peers from other centers,
– exchange experiences in cultural production and community work,
– explore different operational models, program strategies, and examples of good practice,
– gain hands-on experience through work, observation, and discussions.
Social and cultural centers share common values, but also have different approaches shaped by local contexts and experiences—creating strong potential for mutual learning and collaboration.
How to apply:
– If you are not sure which independent social and cultural center you would like to visit, write to us at akc.gnezdo@gmail.com describing the expertise most important for your further development, and we will suggest a center that best fits your needs.
– If you choose Youth Center Zaječar, Alternative Cultural Center “Gnezdo” from Kruševac, or CK13 from Novi Sad, your application will be considered final.
For other centers (AKC Poligon in Kosjerić, KC Grad in Belgrade, KC Magacin in Belgrade, KC Klara i Rosa in Subotica, SKC Markovac in Markovac, Magnet in Veliki Gaj, DC Začin in Belgrade, KC Svitac in Jagodina, Livrit in Preševo, etc.), the project team will contact them directly, and your application will be accepted if the selected center confirms the exchange and residency. Otherwise, you will be notified and given the opportunity to choose another center.
– Selected participants will spend one week visiting the chosen center, learning through practice, asking questions, and getting to know the center’s working model.
The program encourages long-term collaboration based on real needs and capacities.
The call is open until December 1, and visits must be completed by the end of the year.
Travel, accommodation, and meals during the stay are covered by the organizer.
If you are unable to participate this year, there will be opportunities for exchange next year as well.
Apply and become part of a network that learns from one another and strengthens the capacities of social and cultural centers across Serbia.
