Presrećni smo da podelimo sa vama da je UG Fakiri Sa Juga dobilo nacionalnu nagradu Fondacija Jelena Šantić "Za hrabri iskorak" u kategoriji "Doprinos razvoju lokalne zajednice" - za revitalizaciju kulturnog života kroz rad Alternativni kulturni centar Gnezdo !
“Today we celebrate brave voices and tireless fighters—people who remind us every day that change comes through knowledge, awareness, solidarity, and action. Through this award, for the tenth time, we recognize individuals and collectives who live Miljenko’s vision of Jelena: ‘Action and only action, despite failure, despite defeat, despite difficulties, and without the right to rest,’” said Irina Ljubić, director of the foundation, addressing the audience in the packed Miljenko Dereta Space.
This award bears the name of a woman whose life and work became a symbol of courage, solidarity, and dedication to social change.
It has been awarded since 2006 to individuals and organizations whose initiatives, projects, and actions have inspired communities and advanced human rights through art and culture—continuing the activist legacy that Jelena Šantić courageously embodied during the 1990s.
